Matt Hardigree from Gawker’s Jalopnik breaks this cute news item: a guy in Austin woke one day to find a teeny owl living on his bike! Rounding out the journalist’s account is a servicey how-to, should you find yourself in a similar pickle, and this succinct sentiment summarizing Austin-ites:
“Mostly well-meaning people in weird situations who tend to solve their problems by doing nothing.”

This makes me so happy! One of my favorite iPhone apps, besides the obvious best ones (disclosure: my awesome clients), is Instagram. And one of my favorite folks on Instagram is the cleverest of all martini-drinkers, Wired’s John C Abell, whose evening martinis seem to always find themselves in the most interesting of circumstances.
And he did this one just for me!
UPDATE! Finally met the king of Instagrammed Martinis in person… and was even photographed WITH his martini! Best day ever.
This very lovely illustration just arrived in the mail, a gift from my wonderful mom, purchased in Hawaii. Thanks Mom!! will update post with a photo once it’s framed and up on the wall.
Owl Plays with a Cat! Love this, and the catchy non-English language song, which I even tried to Shazam. Patience and further enjoyment of more than 3.5 minutes of this odd couple’s antics rewarded me with the song title and a website for more.

These Owl Quirkeys were a fantastic surprise that I found on my desk this morning, courtesy of a visit from the owl gift fairy, aka Ms. Caren Browning.

When Owls Attack!
As reported by NPR: “When we checked back this afternoon on how things are going with the pair of bald eagles, and their three eaglets that have captivated folks around the world… there was a lot of talk in the comments section about an owl “attack” last night.”
I’m guessing Molly or McGee of the Owl Cam (pictured) were just upset that the Hawk Cam hawks had stolen their thunder.
